Ken Jennings, All-Time ‘Jeopardy!’ Champion, to Speak at DCCC

THOMASVILLE, N.C. …Record holder for the longest winning streak in Jeopardy! history, Ken Jennings will speak on the Davidson Campus of Davidson County Community College on March 21 from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in the Rittling Conference Center. Jennings made history by winning 74 consecutive games of Jeopardy! and earning $2.52 million along the way, the most won games and money for any American game show.

Jennings talk will take a behind-the-scenes look at his 2011 epic battle of wits against Watson, a supercomputer designed by IBM. Creators of Watson designed the machine to “think” like a human and to beat the world’s best Jeopardy! players. Jennings, a former computer programmer, will provide insight into the plausibility of machines that can reason and learn, and why Watson is such a technological milestone.

This event is free and open to the public.
