Music Makers Exhibit Talk with Tim Duffy – FREE EVENT!!



In conjunction with the “We Are The Music Makers” Exhibit at the Welborn Gallery in Yadkinville (January-February 2019), BRMC and Yadkin Arts will be hosting an Exhibit Talk with Music Maker Founder Tim Duffy on Thurs. Jan. 31st, 2019.


This coincides not only with the current Exhibit, but with the Feb.1st release of the new Music Maker CD “Blue Muse” & the upcoming March 28th release of the book of Tim Duffy photographs, both celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Music Maker Relief Foundation.

Tim Duffy, Founder and Executive Director of Music Maker Relief Foundation will join Music Center Program Director Richard Emmett for a conversation about the “We Are The Music Makers” Exhibit currently on display (through February) in the Welborn Gallery at The Yadkin Cultural Arts Center on Thursday, January 31st at 6:30 PM



They will talk about Tim’s inspiration for starting the Music Maker Relief Foundation, his and the foundations ongoing efforts to support and sustain musicians, Tim’s photographic portraits of roots musicians – books & exhibits including “We are the Music Makers” and the activities celebrating  the 25th Anniversary of the Foundation in 2019 including:

  • the release of the Blues Music (25th Anniversary) CD featuring songs by Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, Dom Flemons and many other Music Maker musicians plus 
  • Blue Muse: Timothy Duffy’s Southern Photographs, published by UNC Press, available February 25th, 2019, and the accompanying exhibition organized by the New Orleans Museum of Art, on view April 25th – July 28th, 2019.  
  • Two previously unpublished stories from American Splendor creator Harvey Pekar will see the light of day for the first time in February 2019 as part of Tales of the Music Makers, a new graphic novel from Z2 Comics that showcases the work of the Music Maker Relief Foundation
