Mel Jones, Don Story, Kip Snow and Dan Campbell have been playing for years and have managed to develop a sound that is part minstrel show, part jug band, part country, part blues with enough old time mountain music to make everybody happy!.

Jones started out as a drummer and singer and then picked up the harmonica, winning awards along the way. Story also started as a drummer and moved over to the guitar and as a Merlefest regular. He is highly sought as a teacher, session man and performer, according to the press release. Snow plays the mandolin, guitar and banjo in a variety of styles and currently owns and operates Counter Point Music, a music store known for its fine teaching facility. Campbell, a three-time winner of the World Champion Bassist Title at Union Grove Fiddler’s Convention, started as a 10-year-old playing with his dad, Larry Campbell, and has established himself as one of the most talented bass men in bluegrass music. “All in all a formidable quartet who will give you a fun evening of music,” said organizers of the concert.

“Mel’s natural showmanship brings the whole thing to life, with his easy going sense of humor,” said the press release. “This is good music. They know and enjoy what they’re doing.” PROVIDED BY:MOUNTAIN TIME.COM
